Learners with difficulties and/or disabilities

We aim to ensure that all adults who wish to do so are able to access the services provided by Bedfordshire Adult Skills & Community Learning. Before enrolment, please discuss with a member of staff, any specific requirements you may have so that we can support you.

Examples of the kind of help that can be made available include:

  • Supporting physical access to classes
  • Learning materials adapted for people with sight or hearing difficulties
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Special arrangements for examinations

Bespoke learning is available for groups of learners with specific needs and these can be accessed at a range of venues throughout the County. To discuss this further please contact your local office.

Parking details at our venues are as follows:

Access to our centres/venues:
All of our centres have parking or access to parking nearby, there is disabled parking at the majority of venues, generally with full access at all centres.

Riverside Centre, Leighton Buzzard – no daily on-site parking, although it is available nearby. Some courses are on the first floor, however arrangements will be made to use a lower floor room if possible.

Learners with disabilities:
There are induction loop systems available, plus adaptive equipment, for learners with hearing, visual or physical impairments. A few venues do not have direct parking, our office staff will be able to help you with any access or equipment questions you may have.

Lifts are available at:

  • Samuel Whitbread Community College – Clifton
  • Holmemead Middle School – Biggleswade
  • Stratton Upper School – Biggleswade
