Spark - Adult Education Courses

Bedfordshire Adult & Community Learning have local offices located across the County and has a comprehensive Adult Learning Programme called ‘SPARK’ covering, Arts and Crafts, Literacy and Numeracy, Foreign Languages, IT, Lifestyle and Healthy Living and General Interest.
Spark provides learners and business’ with local access to learning needs support and advice on education training, skills for life, ESOL (English as a secondary or other language), LearnDirect, Family and Community Learning and general interest activities ranging from acrylic, through to Yoga and all in between.
What you can expect from us:
- A friendly and prompt response to all enquiries
- Accurate advice, guidance and information about: Courses, fees and Financial support; Learning support; Other support or equipment you may require
- A referral to other agencies where their provision may be more suitable for you
- To be notified as soon as possible if a class is cancelled or postponed
- A safe, healthy and supportive environment in which to learn
- An introduction and overview of your course at the first session
- A balanced range of teaching and learning strategies, appropriate to the learners’
aims and experiences and the course content, delivered by suitably qualified staff - Regular feedback on progress with fair and accurate assessment of your work
- The opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of your course
- To have any complaints that you make handled quickly and sympathetically
In 2007/08 over 7500 adults and families engaged in personal and community development learning through the Council's Adult and Community Learning Service. Learners without a level 2 qualification (equivalent to GCSE grade A-C) in English or maths were involved in Skills for Life programmes further leading to a formal qualification.
