Air Quality Management Area Sandy

We are required to regularly review and assess air quality levels within our area.

These assessments have shown that measurements of air pollution in an area of Sandy have higher levels of Nitrogen Dioxide than when compared with the national air quality objectives.

There are a number of residential properties close to the roads which mean there is public exposure to air pollution in this location.

The council is therefore required to declare an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA). We consulted with residents to make sure that the area covered by the Air Quality Management Area is extensive enough.
