About the Etonbury Green Wheel consultation
This consultation closed at 5pm on Monday, 7 August 2017.
We invited you to have your say on a proposed 'Etonbury Green Wheel', in partnership with Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC). The green wheel is a long-term vision to form a linked loop of publicly-accessible green spaces and paths around the towns and villages of Arlesey, Astwick, Fairfield and Stotfold. The idea is to use and enhance existing public paths and create new additional routes to form a more formal continuous circular network of public paths around the communities.
The wheel ring would be formed of a ‘rim’ which is supported by 'spokes' of linear paths and sections leading from the towns and villages out to the 'rim' and the wider surrounding countryside. The project will start by completing the walking route, before changing existing paths or creating new paths with cycle access or bridleway status to create a complete circuit, including the provision of links to the National Cycle Routes 12 and 51.
