The Corporate Management Team is lead by Richard Carr, Chief Executive.
The council is split by directorate and corporate service areas.

Social Care, Health and Housing
The Social Care, Health and Housing directorate works with people to help them continue to live as independently as possible in their own homes.
In Housing, we work to ensure that there is suitable housing for everyone in the area. This covers access to social housing through Bedfordshire Homefinder, advice on domestic abuse and appropriate housing solutions, housing advice and options for tenants, landlords, homeowners, young people and homeless people. We also provide advice and assistance to enable elderly, disabled, low-income or otherwise vulnerable residents to undertake essential works of repair or adaptations to their homes.
There are a number of ‘shared services’ with Bedford Borough Council including Supporting People, Emergency Duty team and Hospital Social Work services.

Children's Services
The Children’s Services directorate for Central Bedfordshire is driven by one of the Council’s top five priorities: Educating, Protecting and Providing Opportunities for Children and Young People.
These services strive to bring together professionals from a variety of disciplines to deliver early intervention and prevention and targeted youth services to children, young people and families in Central Bedfordshire.

Sustainable Communities
The focus of the Sustainable Communities directorate is to seek to improve public health and a better quality of life for all its residents. The directorate contributes to these aspirations by limiting waste, preventing pollution, protecting and promoting the area’s cultural assets and providing a range of leisure and cultural opportunities for families and communities. Our services also promote efficiency and develop local resources to enhance the local economy.
The four divisions of Sustainable Communities cover a diverse range of services which together combine to impact on people and places both meeting current needs and ensuring that adequate resources are available for future generations to live in a sustainable community.

Director of Sustainable Communities: Gary Alderson
Corporate services
The Corporate Services directorate provides a number of major public facing services such as Customer Service Centres and Births, Marriages and Deaths registration. It also supports the whole organisation through a number of cross-directorate back office services, which support the council to deliver first rate public services within a framework of good government and internal control.
People and Organisation covers HR, Customer Services, Legal and Democratic, Policy and Communications and is overseen by Deb Clarke, Interim Assistant Chief Executive.
Alan Fleming is responsible for the delivery of the council's Medium Term Strategic Plan alongside Assets and ICT.
Charles Warboys has overall responsibility for Finance and Robin Edwards leads on Procurement. Elaine Malarky oversees Programmes and Performance.
