Welcome to the Council and democracy area.

66 Councillors were elected on June 4, 2009 for an initial two year period to represent residents of Central Bedfordshire. Further elections will take place in 2011 and at four yearly intervals thereafter. The Council elected Cllr Mrs Patricia E Turner MBE as Leader of the Council and Chairman of the Executive, who nominated cabinet members to take specific responsibility and be accountable for selected portfolio of services.

Supported and sheltered housing

Sheltered housing is designed specially to cater for the needs of older people who need a little extra support to continue living independently.
