The system starts off with a view of the whole Unitary area and shows various Ordnance Survey maps changing in detail as you zoom in or out.

Online mapping offers users the following features:

Feature buttons – the selection of buttons here allow you to manually customise and use the map you are viewing. Map tips will appear if you hover over the individual buttons or alternatively the Help page can be displayed by selecting "show help".

Quick Search –  Here you can select a category (such as Council Offices) and proceed to chose a location in the second dropdown box for the map window to zoom to.

Address search – this tab allows you to search for an address anywhere within Central Bedfordshire and once chosen, the map will automatically zoom to the address and identify it with a label of the address.

Map Layers –  This tab displays a list of all data currently available to view.  Layers can be switched on by clicking on the tick box.  Layer names displayed in grey are not visible at the current scale of the map window.

Info – this tab becomes active either by selecting the tab or directly selecting this button. Proceed by clicking on an area of interest on the map and you will identify all information currently displayed and available for the chosen location.

Print – the map you are viewing can be easily printed by selecting this tab. Follow the box instructions to proceed in creating a print template.  The template will open a new window containing your map in a pdf document. The print template contains the appropriate copyrights for displaying the map data and these must not be removed or edited in any way.

Please note: If the pop-up blocker is switched on your browser may prevent the pdf document from opening. To overcome this either allow pop-ups for this site or hold down the ctrl key on the keyboard whilst you click the button.
