A to Z:

Domestic abuse

If you’re concerned about domestic abuse in any way – whether it’s in relation to you, a friend or family member, or a vulnerable person you know – you’ve come to the right place.

Domestic abuse can be complex and isn’t always easy to define – but generally speaking, it’s something that occurs any time or anywhere between people in an intimate relationship (whether that’s current or former partners/spouses) or co-habitants, and could include physical, sexual, emotional and/or financial abuse. No one sector of society is ‘immune’. It can happen to, and be carried out by, anyone – no matter what their age, gender, race, sexuality or background.

Whatever your questions or concerns, the Bedfordshire Domestic Violence Partnership is here to help. We’re made up of professional, caring people from both government-run and voluntary organisations in the area, so we’ve got the resources, expertise and experience to deal with domestic abuse issues at all levels.
